Ecologist Dr Peggy Rismiller was the guest speaker at SURLG’s recent AGM and Public Meeting on Tuesday 10th November 2020. 

Peggy presented an interesting and informative talk entitled “From the Ashes – Kangaroo Island.”  

She and her partner Mike McElvey have years of experience studying the unique Kangaroo Island environment.

Some of you may have seen SURLG featured in last week’s Hills Courier. The article proposed that small tunnels under Upper Sturt Road may be one solution to helping the Southern Brown Bandicoot in moving to and from Belair National Park -and preventing that population from becoming genetically isolated.

Turns out that other have been working on similar problems – in this case with Koalas in Queensland.
